topic: The increase in overweight and obesity among adolescents.

What studies have been done, or ought to be done, to elucidate the proximal, intermediate, and distal determinants of the problem? Have observational, case-control, cohort, or randomized control trials been conducted, or should they be conducted, to highlight these determinants and their proximity to the outcome of interest?

Answers

Obesity is one of the major problems continue to show its abundance in the world. The children in the age group of 12 to 19 are facing so many problems due to overweight and obesity. In a study, it is revealed that obesity among adolescents in the United State has increased from 10% to 21% during the period of 1980 to 2014 and continue to increase.

Obesity in adolescents is developed due to various reasons such as genetic factors, lack of physical activity, bad eating habits or hormonal problems. High blood pressure and cholesterol levels are the outcomes of obesity. By encouraging the physical activity and reducing the screen time can alleviate the problem to a great extent. By cutting down the fatty food and encouraging foods like fruits, vegetables, nuts and grains can be very beneficial in reducing overweight.
