Learning Organization
Learning organization means company which facilitates continuous learning of their employees and transform itself continuously. It belief that for every problem there is solution within company and it needs to be tapped from the employee by critical thinking and creative mind set.
Employees are encouraged to participate in the improved work environment by challenging traditional thinking, brainstorm ideas and break apart traditional hierarchy and exploring human potential.
However, following five disciplined must be mastered while introducing learning environment to the organization.
System Thinking – It is the ability to see the big picture and able to distinguish pattern. It enables us to switch from blaming to external factor for any problem to analyze within ourselves for the solution.
Personal Mastery – It is spiritual cornerstone of learning organization. Personal mastery involves being more realistic, focusing on becoming the best person possible, and striving for a sense of commitment and excitement in our careers to facilitate the realization of potential.
Mental Models – Whenever there is any change takes place, it is our mental model who either prevents or enable to implement same. Process begins with self-belief and understanding how it dramatically influence the way we operate in our lives. So, there should focus on openness which will enable real change to take place.
Building shared vision – Everyone always has their own vision. And it is not necessarily being align to the organization vision. So, it is leader’s responsibility to create vision which will have commitment during good time and bad. This will essentially bind individual vision to the organization vision.
Team Learning – Modern organization works based on teamwork. So organizational learning process can not start unless and until members work in team and starts learning together. They should have shared common goals, objectives, ready help-each other and attain shared desired result.
