Can HF have hydrogen bonding and dipole-dipole forces at the same time?

Question

Can HF have hydrogen bonding and dipole-dipole forces at the same time?
Can HF have hydrogen bonding and dipole-dipole forces at the same time?

Answers

Hydrogen bonding is a special case of dipole-dipole intramolecular forces. This is a trick question meant to make you understand this.

They are extremely strong versions, since the net dipole between very electronegative atoms (e.g. #N#, #O#, #F#) and hydrogen is so large.

The electronegativity difference isn't nearly as large in more polarizable, but electronegative atoms.
