How is glucose used in the body during physical activity
How is glucose used in the body during physical activity
Answers
Glucose is the immediate source of energy in the body and excess of this is stored in muscles and liver in the form of glycogen by the glycogenesis process. During the excercise this glycogen is again converted into glucose by the process of glycogenolysis. The glucose stored in the muscle burns firstly during the excercise. Further on strenuous and more excercise the fat is burnt-out as fat is converted into glucose by the process of gluconeogenesis.
Thus in this form glucose is used in the body during physical excercise.
