Question 2 110 points]: An ideal noiseless channel passes all the frequencies from 1.5 MHz to 3.5 MHz. What will be the minimum number of signal levels needed in order to achieve a bit rate of 20 Mbps?

Answers

Solved the given question ..Hope this helps Thank You...:)

Given Data:

Channel is noiseless and ranges from 1.5Mhz to 3.5Mhz

target to achieve : 20Mbps

now we change the Mbps to bps .

then 20Mbps=20971520 bps.

we know the formula to calculate number of signal levels is:

a communication system must use 2n levels to represent n bits.

now we know that n=20971520 bits

so we require log220971520 levels=24.3levels,

hence we require 25 levels to achieve bitrate of 20Mbps
