The type of logical thinking that uses related observations to arrive at a general conclusion is called______. a. deductive reasoning b. the scientific method C. hypothesis-based science d. inductive reasoning

I merely want to explain what infected reasonings inductive restraining. Basically, it's broad generalizations from observations observed in the environment. Example of this would be rainfall in the tropics. If it rains every full in the tropics, then you can make a generalization that the upcoming phone it will wait.

Now in this question it's asking about hypotheses. A group of hypotheses All hypotheses are part of the scientific method. The scientific method is a series of steps the scientists used in order to solve a problem. Okay so let's start with looking at what the scientific method is about and that will help us with the question. Okay you start with observations of something that's happening in nature. Okay. Those observations well then help you come up with a question. Okay why is this happening? Um what are you you know seeing here? Why is that going on? Um Sometimes we say that the observations help us define the problem. That question then um we need to find out more about it. So we do research to help us come up with a possible answer to the question. That's your hypothesis, your possible answer to that question. I know people jump. Oh isn't that just an educated guess? Yes. It's an educated guess based on your research that helps you possibly answer that question that you made before. So with your hypothesis that hypothesis is going to help you make a prediction. Okay. I think that based on what I see here under these conditions we think this is going to happen. Okay. Um so after you make your prediction under certain circumstances, what's going to happen? You're going to test your hypothesis. Okay? So that's what we usually call the experiment. Okay? And after you test your hypothesis and collect data, you're going to use that data and analyze that. You're going to use that to make a conclusion based on your facts from your data. Okay? So here's his hypotheses that are related. So what happens here? Well all of these are part of the scientific method but then you come up with your conclusion. Okay? So now you take a related hypothesis and you do all this again and again. You come up with a conclusion and you do that over and over again. And if you get the same or similar results that will make you come up with a theory a theory, it's not a guess, it's not a prediction, it's not something that um you come up with. Well I think that this is what's going to happen. No that's a prediction. A theory actually started out as a hypothesis. But then what happened? It has been tested. In other words here. You know you're test your hypothesis right? It's been tested and verified. Some people like to say proven um supported it has been tested and verified multiple times. So a theory is much stronger than a hypothesis. The hypothesis, the possible answer you tested, even if your conclusion verifies your theory, your hypothesis is still a hypothesis. But once you have verified that hypothesis by multiple tests, multiple tests, then it becomes a theory. So a related set of hypothesis that explain some aspect of the natural world that would be your theory.

Number twenty. Which choice best describes the developmental pattern of Wilson's argument. Okay, so this is This is the overall pattern of this speech kind of what he's basically doing and eats part of it. Is he making a statement and then a restatement of the argument? Well, he is making a statement that he wants to have open discussions and a program for peace, and then he specifically now lists things was part of this program. He has actual specific number two list. So that's not a statement and a restatement. So, eh, is not it be a statement of the argument, followed by specific examples. That sounds very good. That's what we just said. Plus, would be initial claims followed by counterclaims. Well, he maybe make some initial claims. Um, you know, he says. The day of conquest in the Grand Iseman has gone by and secret covenants has gone by. We entered this war because of this or that, but then there's no counter claims after that, there's no saying, but what about this? So it's not see D specific examples leading to a concluding arguments? No, it does not open with specific examples. In fact, it just ends with specific examples. So be, as we said, is our best choice here

Now in this question we are addressing what is a scientific theory. Okay. First of all, a lot of people use theory and they go, oh I think that this is my theory and they think that it's not a guess. Okay, first of all not I guess scientific theory okay. Is part of the scientific method kind of like at the bitter end it starts as a hypothesis. So you made an observation of some natural phenomenon. Okay. That observation made you ask a question. Okay that you maybe you wanted to find the answer to that question uh made you do some research to find out things about that question. And based on that research and everything you find out in your observations. You came up with your hypothesis. But the scientific method doesn't end there. After you do your hypothesis right? You will make a prediction based on your hypothesis. Okay. Um then after you make a prediction based on your hypothesis, you test your hypothesis and that's what we tend to call the experiment. And that experiment is going to make you collect data observations from your results of your experiment. So what are you going to do with that data? You're going to and analyze the data? Okay. Now remember when you're analyzing your data you have to use critical thinking. It's kind of a given but part of the question. So let me add there that in order to analyze your data you need to use critical thinking. Okay. And after you analyze your data, see what you come up with. You're gonna end up making a conclusion based on your data. So based on your results on the facts you see there. Okay So we're still not well that's still not a theory. No this is all testing hypothesis. So what is a theory? Well a theory Okay starts out as a hypothesis but it's been tested lots of times. And not only has it been tested but it's been verified. You can use the words proven or supported means the same thing. It shows that your hypothesis was right and it's got to be multiple times several times once is not enough twice is not enough. Okay. In order for your theory for your hypothesis to be accepted and made into a theory. Okay. It's got to be tested and verified multiple times. Okay now the one thing is even though it's been accepted and tested and verified. Okay it is not absolute truth. This is a theory is a result of an experiment. It is not absolute truth. Okay. Um eventually accepted as absolute truth. No um absolute truth is what we would consider a law like the law of gravity and things like that. Not the theories. So of all the statements regarding theories, all of these are true except it is not considered absolute truth.
